Week of July 8 - Papa Is In Town

My dad, known to Emily as "Papa", came to town over the weekend to visit. Emily had not seen Papa in a number of months, but she keeps a photo of the two of them together in her little family photo album. So it was pretty easy going when we went to pick up Papa at the airport, even though Emily is very much well into that toddler 2 year old angst over people she does not see often, not to mention she is always resistant to change in general.

So this weeks photos are pretty much devoted to Emily and Papa together. I have reported in past weeks about Emily's progress in tricycle riding, and this week with Papa's encouragement, she has begun actually peddling her tricycle around instead of pushing a long with her feet.

Here is a couple of great photos of Emily and Papa, both still in their jammys, hamming it up together in the family room.

Later in the day, since it was my birthday, we all went out to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and desert. Emily looks so grown up in these last two photos!

It's hard to believe that just a year ago, Emily was just a tiny little girl like you see in this last photo (below). Emily has indeed grown up so much!

Wow...you look a lot like your Dad, EP!

So glad to see the generations mixing it up! How great that Emily can see her Papa -- she certainly seems to enjoy his company!
