With the banquet completed on Saturday night, we all went home and crashed for a good nights rest. Sunday morning, July 30, we made final preparations for a traditional American Birthday party celebration in the afternoon.
At 11:30 AM, friends began to arrive and we got the party under way.
Through the early afternoon, friends and family enjoyed food and beverages and the kids had free run of Emily's play zone in the family room, which judging by the mass quantities of toys tossed about..... appeared to be a hit. Emily took everything in stride and really enjoyed all the activity.
Emily of course received lots of attention from all her "aunties" who like to compete for a chance to hold her and cuddle her :)
Later on, it was time for cake, some party gifts for all the kids, and then Emily had a chance to start unwrapping the presents [with Mom's assistance of course :) ]. Emily enjoyed some cake (with a preference for the inner layer with it's strawberry filling), and definitely enjoyed the unwrapping of presents.
We want to thank everyone who joined us for Emily's very first Birthday Party. You helped make this a very special celebration, with memories for years to come!! I look forward to sharing stories and photos with Emily about her 1st birthday in the years to come as she grows up.
