Heh, now let's fast forward 7 months and you can see in these next two photos that the Rice Krispies box is still very much alive and well in Emily's world still. Boy does she love to pull that box out and spend some quality time admiring the drawings on the back of the box (when the box is not squished at the bottom of her toy box of course) :-)

There is really no telling how long that box will last, but we shall see.
All my regular readers know by now that Emily is very often dressed in vests over top of her clothing. Vests are a little compromise between myself (the Caucasian daddy who likes to run around in shorts when it is cold out) and Emily's very traditional grand parents (Nancy's parents) who believe that all little Chinese girls need to be dressed warmly at all times. Nancy by the way, is very much aligned with her parents on this, but agrees that vests are a good compromise :) Well, this weekend, Emily took a particular interest in a vest that Mommy wears. Mostly for Emily, it is all about the zippers. Emily finds zippers to be fascination gadgets worthy of her time and attention. Woe is me if I ever forget to zip the zipper on Emily's vest, as she will sit down and spend long periods of time trying to zip her vest up. :-0 Anyway, I decided it would be fun to put Mommy's vest on Emily and see what she thought about it. She actually liked it, as you can see in the next two photos. Emily's one reservation is that she does not like tight or high collars (hehe, just like her Mommy) and so she would pull the collar away from her neck and face from time to time, but other then that, seemed to get a kick out of wearing grown-up clothes as you can see.

It is not my habit to show photos of Emily sleeping, as our blog is publicly accessible so I tend to keep some parts of her life private, but this last photo is just too cute not to share with friends and family. Ever since Emily came home from China, we have always kept a little stuffed puppy in her crib so that she would always have something to play with when she wakes up in the morning (and yes puppy was one of the early words in her collection of vocalizations). It is very common to hear Emily giggling, and talking to the puppy in the early morning before we go into to pick her up. Sometimes Emily is insistent that Puppy go with her when we pick her up from her crib too. And on occasion, we see Emily cuddling her puppy while she is asleep, so I thought it would be fun to share this experience here in this weeks blog entry. This photo is so very typical of the loving, happy, cuddly little girl that is our precious daughter.

Seven months...where does the time go?
Emily is beautiful...in her own vest, with a Rice Krispie box, in her momma's vest, sleeping with puppy. No matter what, she's a darling little girl.
What a joy is!
Today marks 3 months since we were handed our precious Katie for the first time. What a difference 3 months makes!
