But this week was a week of milestones once again for Emily.
This week we went together to open house where Emily will start preschool in a few months. She had a great time and is clearly very enthusiastic about going to school already. Now we just have to finish up on potty training and she is ready to go. Go Emily (no pun intended :) )
Also this week, we started the transition of Emily to a toddler bed. We've been thinking about it for a while now, and it seemed the time was right. So while Emily was downstairs playing with Mommy, Daddy went upstairs and redid her crib into a toddler bed configuration for her nap time. We weren't sure exactly how she would react, or how she would behave. Would she be upset because her regular structure was altered? Would she not nap at nap time and just get up and start playing in her room? We had no idea, but it was time to see.
When Emily came upstairs for nap time though, she was all smiles when she saw her new bedding setup. She smiled, said "I like it!" and crawled up onto her bed and we covered her up for nap time.
She did great, sleeping through her nap until I went up to wake her. She did great as well at night time, once again smiling and giggling and letting us know again that she "likes it". Emily slept through the night with no issues, and when she woke up in the morning, she got up and ran down the hall to wake us up.
Onward to some new growth and challenge we go. :)
It is a remarkable time for our family. We have one chance to experience some very personal and unique life with Emily as she grows from little baby to toddler to child to teenager to adult. It is such a wonderful experience and is so worthy of Nancy and myself being constantly mindful and attentive to this wonderful time of growth, experience, and joy together with Emily.
One day Emily will read all of my weekly postings about her life and times growing up. From Mommy and Daddy, to Emily..... We Love You very much, and you bring joy and happiness to our hearts each and every day.

Slow down tiger, you are already getting her married off, "very personal and unique life with Emily as she grows from little baby to toddler to child to teenager to adult." Why did you just say, have kids of her own and we can be grand parents.. LOL. You wait, our CaNoodle has been in a toddler for a few weeks and she has learned where we sleep and makes no hesitation about crawling in bed with mom and dad. We have put her back in her toddler bed but she just wakes up and crawls in bed again. I swear CaNoodle is going to gold medal Olympic class Karate Kid if she does half as good as she sleeps, rolling around flailing her arms into our faces. And you know me, I have seen how effective she has become as "birthcontrol" be/c well, you get the point ;)
