Week of May 11 - [More] Catching Up From Vacation - Our Trip Part 5 - A Walk In The Park

This post shares our adventures while in Hefei at one of the more famous parks in the city, Baohe Park. This is a park that circles a long lake in the city center. It is a wonderful walking park, and has a number of more famous sites to see (though we skipped those this trip, and spent our time on a walk-a-bout in the park. Emily loves parks and she loves exploring, so this park is tailor made for her delight.

Saying Hello to the Camera:

Always the social butterfly, Emily can and will chat up every child she meets, and here she is just moments into the park heading off to chat with another little girl:

Up the ramp and out across the first bridge to one of the center islands:

And, off we go, across the island:

Way over on the other side of the lake now, doing some exploring along the walk way, and stopping to pose once again for Daddy:

Here we are at the west end of the park now, heading back across another bridge to another island. Of course, once again, time to stop and peer down into the lake, looking for more fish:

And now we are off the islands and over into the south side of the park where people meet and enjoy time in the trees and grass. For Emily this was more new stuff to explore, and from here she put her attention on looking for and collecting little stones:

After about an hour at the park, and after lots and lots of walking, Emily announced that it was time to go back to the hotel. :-P So we hailed down a cab (no small feat in today's Hefei where demand for taxi rides is way way up over the last time we were here two years ago.)
