April 10, 2007 - One Year Ago Today Was Gotcha Day!!!

Boy does time fly by!!

It's been a whole year already since we first held Emily on Gotcha day in the lobby of Civil Affairs in Hunan Province. Here are the very first photos of our little darling Emily one year ago today. This was an incredibly wonderful and emotional day for us.

And look at our little darling now! This photo was taken on Easter weekend as she was getting all dressed up to go on her very first Easter egg hunt.

We were 9 families traveling together for Gotcha day on April 10 2006. It was a great day and the following 2 weeks continued the greatness as we completed the process of adoption and visa clearance for our daughters together. Over the last year, from time to time we have seen photos and read updates on each of the girls and they are all thriving and doing well.

Congratulations to all our travel families on the one year anniversary of Gotcha Day!!!!

Stepping back briefly now to Easter Day this year, Emily definitely had a blast with all the festivities, starting with unwrapping an Easter basket full of stuffed animals from auntie Gayle. Big hit Auntie Gayle!!

Later in the day, it was time for Emily to join in the big Easter egg hunt at a local park with her two cousins Rachael and Charlene. Emily truly had a blast, as can be seen in the photos below.

Today we are taking the day off to celebrate Gotcha Day with Emily. Since Emily loves bus rides, car rides, etc, we have decided to take her on a Light rail ride across the valley to have a day of fun riding the rail, shopping, sight seeing, and enjoying some interesting food and snacks. Will post an update tomorrow or the next day on our fun and activities from today.

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!!! One year -- how fantastic!

Your Emily is absolutely beautiful, and looks darling in her Easter dress. What a lucky young lady to get a basket full of stuffed animals from the incomparable Auntie Gayle!

Can't wait to see more pictures of your darling daughter, and hear about her "gotcha day" anniversary celebration!
