Week of May 13 - An SWI Sisters Get Together In The Park

Every so often, we have a local get together for children from the same orphanage as Emily. Actually it is a get together for two orphanages in Emily's home city in China. These two orphanages have participated in the China IA program for years now and we are fortunate to have a number of adopted children here in our local community. It is a great opportunity to let Emily meet other girls with the same roots as she has, and it is always a treat to see how all of the girls are doing. This first photo this week is a group photo of some of the girls. Aren't they adorable?

This turned out to be a big day for Emily as she had lots of time to visit with the other girls, as well as run Mommy and Dada ragged as she runs and explores everything in the little park where we met for the day. A few more photos of Emily with some of her friends

Emily took advantage of the day's outing to brush up on her climb-n-slide skills in the little playground area, as you can see in the next two photos. It used to be that Emily was a little afraid to go down the slide by herself, but now days she is pretty much OK with it.

Later in the day, Emily was scheduled to go over to her auntie's house for a birthday celebration for one of her cousins. So after a few hours, we headed back home so that Emily could get some quality nap time and recharge her batteries from the late morning fun with her SWI sisters. She crashed as soon as we settled her into the car seat and slept the whole trip home, and then another 90 minutes in her crib at home in addition. Good thing too, but an tired Emily is a grumpy Emily :-P

This last photo of the week is a really great close-up of Emily with her Cousin Rachael. Of Emily's three cousins (Nancy's sisters kids) Emily is closest with Rachael I think. They look so cute together.

Emily and Rachel are beautiful.

What a wonderful day you had, and how great that you live close to others from the same SWI.
