Week of May 27 - Summer Time Perks :)

Well, it's not officially summer yet of course, but you wouldn't know it by the nice warm sunny local weather we have had recently.

So what are these supposed perks you say? Well, speaking strictly for Emily, since this is pretty much all about Emily here, watermelon definitely tops her list of favorite perks at the moment. Watermelon season is here, and Emily loves watermelon. Definitely a top favorite for our little girl who eats pretty much anything anyways.

So with this in mind, these first two photos show Emily with her very own bowl of watermelon, and her trusty little silver fork in hand. Note: it is quite the chore for me to actually snap a photo of Emily skewering a piece of watermelon and then successfully getting the second shot of her pushing into her mouth before it is gone. It's a fast and furious thing on Emily's part, so I am happy to say I got one successful one-two sequence here as she devours her watermelon.

Eventually I'm going to just hand her a piece of watermelon on the rind and let her go at it, but not indoors! Oh the mess that would be!! Definitely needs to be an outdoor activity where I can hose everything (including baby) down afterwards :-P

another great perk with the warm weather is Emily gets to try out some of her summer clothes, which are a definite hit. This next photo shows Emily in one of her summer jumpers and her favorite sandals. Emily loves the sandals as they have little flashy lights in the soles. We got those in China last year and they now fit nicely, just in time for the summer weather.

I have a few more photos from the park last week to share as well, so let's see what else Emily was up to in the park last week. Well let's see, how about we start with a recap about how much fun Emily had with some rocks. Rocks turned out to be a big hit. Small rocks, one in each hand. Oooooo..even a large one!

Of course what would any journey to the park with with Emily if she did not occasionally make a run for it and take off, leaving me behind to try to catch up. Lucky for me Emily gives me warning in the form of this cute little twinkle in her eye and a big mischievous smirk. Then off she goes, this time down a paved walkway at least. :)

Remember those rocks a few moments ago? Well, it turns out that sticks are even more fun then rocks, as far as Emily is concerned.

And of course, if one stick is good times, then two sticks are even better times in the land of children. Emily definitely thinks two sticks are better then one and better then rocks as well. Go Emily! :)

That's my girl, always on the lookout for cool stuff.

Sticks and stones are great toys, and very available fortunately.

We have a lot of sticks in our yard, too. Most of them have a large dog attached to one end though!

Break out the summer wardrobe, Daddy, baby wants to model some new clothes!
