Week of April 20 - Papa Comes To Visit Emily

My Dad came to visit for the week. Emily had a great time with him once again!

Last month, one day Emily came up to me and said she wanted to call Papa on the telephone. I guess somehow or another she was missing him. They only see each other a few times a year, but when Emily drinks her evening milk and watches a Dora DVD before bed time, she does this in the guest bedroom, and she calls the bed in their Papa's bed, and sometimes will ask "where's Papa?" So, at Emily's request we dialed up his number and though he was not home at the time, she left him a rather long voice mail. Needless to say, he was completely surprised when he listened to the voice mail.

Here are a couple of photos to share showing Papa and Emily together once again.

Here is another cute photo of Emily "schooling" papa on the alphabet and words that start with each letter. When it came to the letter "X" Papa was quite impressed that Emily knew what a xylophone looked like, what you do with a xylophone, and that she could pronounce xylophone.

Having dad here for the week was a lot of fun. He will be back in late July to celebrate Emily's 3rd birthday with us. Wow, 3rd birthday already! They grow up so fast.

Potty Training Progress Report: Emily is doing great. She rarely ever poops in her pullup. I think it has been a couple weeks now since she has done so. She is really good about coming and telling us when she needs to go. Good progress on dry pull-ups as well. While she is not at cooperative when it is time to go pee, we are having more and more dry pull-up days, so I think in another month she is pretty well completed in training. Just in time for Preschool too, as she is scheduled to start full day preschool in early June. Emily is very excited about going to school and often asks when she gets to start school.
