It has been common for a long time for Emily to ask for her share of the mail that comes in from the mail box. She likes the catalogs an the magazines and we generally share with her (unless it is Vogue, Emily does not get access to Vogue until Nancy has read it first, LOL).
Now, when we give Emily the new Toys R Us catalog or maybe a catalog from Target, that makes for some immediate advance shopping on Emily's part. She will take the catalog and then go sit down in front of her toy boxes in the family room and begin to browse the catalog and select things she wants. If she has a crayon, she will mark things she wants. If no crayon, no problem, she will tear out the page with an item she wants and then give Daddy the stack of pages, along with a reminder that we need to go shopping soon. So cute, and so deliberate and determined.

On a separate note, doesn't Emily look great in that yellow outfit? There are some colors that really work well for Emily, and though I am not that fond of yellow, the right shade of yellow really works for Emily. We recently rotated her wardrobe, retiring the 2T items and moving to 3Ts and late spring clothing. The pants are capris with a ribbed elastic cuff, and embroidery, so I'll have to get some additional pictures of her standing to really show off the outfit :) Yes, I am a fashionista daddy where my daughter is concerned. I freely admit it.
On the potty training front, great progress. Emily will most times now let us know when it is time to go poop and so we have turned a corner on her hesitancy to do so. In fact this last Monday (my work from home day) she went the entire day successfully letting me know when she needed to go pee or poop with only one time wetting her pullup (which was during her afternoon TV time on the Sprout Channel). Note to self: must ask Emily often during TV time if she needs to go pee. :) She is admittedly very motivated to complete potty trainings as she knows she gets to start preschool as soon as she is fully trained. She makes a point to let us know she wants to wear a pullup after her morning change and she will go pull one out of the bin when it is time to change her out of her overnight diaper. We call them panties to distinguish them from the diapers and she is ready and willing to supervise to insure we put panties on her and not a diaper. We have her enrolled for early June, and so we are pleased that she is progressing along on the potty training.
This weeks famous Emily saying: "Hey! What's your problem?" with a giggle. I will say "You are my problem BooBah!" (BooBah is my nickname for Emily and she loves to be called BooBah) and Emily will laugh and say right back "Nope! you are my problem Daddy!" and laugh and make faces at me. What she is actually doing is taunting me to come over and tickle her. Emily loves to be tickled. Sometimes she will even come to me and say "Daddy, I need a tickle!"
